Visibility Gap Analysis
The client operated in a market where purchase decisions are heavily influenced by peer discussions — Reddit threads, comparison posts, «which wallet should I use?» conversations. Traditional advertising barely works here: crypto users trust community opinions, not ads.
We ran an AI Visibility Audit and a community reputation analysis. The findings:
- The wallet was absent from most comparison threads on Reddit where users actively choose between wallets
- Competitors (Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Ledger, Phantom) dominated these discussions — both organically and in AI-generated answers that pull from Reddit
- The brand had no structured community presence — no consistent voice, no helpful contributions, no reputation footprint
- AI systems like ChatGPT were already pulling wallet recommendations from Reddit — but the client wasn’t part of those conversations
- Branded search queries («[brand] reddit», «[brand] reviews») returned no meaningful results
The core insight: in crypto, AI recommendations and Google results for wallet queries are increasingly shaped by Reddit discussions. If you’re not in those threads, you don’t exist — neither for users browsing Reddit, nor for AI systems indexing it.
Strategy
We built a community-native reputation engine on Reddit — designed to create durable visibility that compounds over time, feeds into Google rankings, and strengthens LLM citation signals.
💡 Main idea: Paid ads stop the moment your budget does. Community threads are still out there converting readers into users months later.
- Community mapping: identified high-intent subreddits and thread formats (comparisons, «best wallet» threads, security discussions)
- Native presence model: neutral, practical, non-promotional tone — designed to pass Reddit’s «marketing smell» filter
- Discussion creation in formats that naturally attract long-term engagement («Which wallet should I choose?», alternatives lists, Q&A threads)
- Monitoring & iteration: tracked organic participation rate, upvote traction, thread longevity — reinforced what worked, dropped what didn’t
Execution
1. Community Mapping & Discussion Planning
We identified the subreddit categories and thread formats where wallet decisions actually happen: wallet comparisons, self-custody discussions, onboarding/UX topics, fees and practical usage threads. A topic map was built around decision-making moments — comparison, recommendation, problem-solving — with content angles designed to feel native and experience-based.
2. Native Presence Model
Every piece of content followed a trust-first framework: balanced comparisons with realistic pros/cons language, alignment with subreddit rules and moderation patterns, and a tone that sounds like genuine user experience rather than branded messaging. This approach reduces the chance of being flagged as promotion and increases the likelihood of organic replies and upvotes.
3. Discussion Creation & Sustained Engagement
We initiated conversations in formats that consistently perform well on Reddit and have long shelf lives — «Which wallet should I choose?» prompts, alternatives lists, and Q&A threads with experience-sharing follow-ups. These become searchable assets that keep attracting views, engagement, and indexing long after publication.
4. Monitoring & Iteration
We tracked organic participation rate, comment velocity, upvote traction, and emerging narratives. Threads growing organically were reinforced; lower-performing angles were replaced with formats that better fit each subreddit’s culture.
We built a Reddit presence that works on three levels at once: earns trust from real users today, creates Google-indexed assets that drive discovery tomorrow, and feeds the citation signals that shape how AI recommends wallets long-term.
Results
Google Indexing & Branded Search Visibility
Reddit threads created and supported during the project reached top positions in Google for branded queries like «[brand] reddit» and «[brand] wallet.»

LLM Visibility Momentum
The brand already exists within AI model knowledge. As Reddit discussions accumulate and get indexed, the client is positioned to appear more consistently in AI-generated answers for crypto wallet comparisons, self-custody recommendations, and «best wallet» shortlists.

Over 40% of product research queries now involve AI assistants. LLMs pull heavily from Reddit when forming recommendations. Most competitors haven’t addressed this channel — this is a first-mover advantage.
Organic Amplification
Around ~5% of participants were organic Reddit users joining and extending discussions independently. Real users started asking follow-up questions and discussing the wallet on their own. Natural, unprompted mentions increased over time.
Market Positioning
A crypto wallet with no community voice became a regular in Reddit’s most influential comparison threads — ranking in Google TOP, feeding AI recommendations, and earning organic mentions from real users.
The wallet began being compared alongside major market options — Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Ledger, Phantom — in organic decision-making threads. Being mentioned in the same breath as established players is positioning that typically takes years or massive ad spend to achieve.
Reddit as Top-Cited Source in AI Responses
Independent data from Ahrefs Brand Radar confirms the results: Reddit is the #1 cited source when AI systems generate answers about the client’s brand — accounting for 5 mentions (10.64% mention rate) across 8 URLs and 5 prompts. This is the highest organic traffic source (656 org. traffic) among all cited domains, outperforming YouTube, Telegram, Medium, and 55 other sources.

This validates the core mechanic of the project: by building a native Reddit presence, we didn’t just win Reddit — we won AI.
Summary
This case demonstrates that community-native reputation building creates a compounding visibility effect across three layers simultaneously: Reddit itself (where users make decisions), Google (which indexes these discussions as top results), and AI systems (which pull from Reddit to form recommendations).
The project also delivered something beyond visibility: a map of what the audience actually cares about — which features win arguments, what objections keep surfacing, and how the brand stacks against competitors in real conversations. That’s strategic intel no survey or focus group can replicate, and it directly informs product positioning, content strategy, and future LLM optimization efforts.
