<p>The client operated in a market where purchase decisions are heavily influenced by peer discussions — Reddit threads, comparison posts, &#8220;which wallet should I use?&#8221; conversations. Traditional advertising barely works here: crypto users trust community opinions, not ads.</p>



<p>We ran an AI Visibility Audit and a community reputation analysis. The findings:</p>

<p>The core insight: in crypto, AI recommendations and Google results for wallet queries are increasingly shaped by Reddit discussions. If you&#8217;re not in those threads, you don&#8217;t exist — neither for users browsing Reddit, nor for AI systems indexing it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strategy">Strategy</h2>



<p>We built a community-native reputation engine on Reddit — designed to create durable visibility that compounds over time, feeds into Google rankings, and strengthens LLM citation signals.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Community Mapping &amp; Discussion Planning</h3>



<p>We identified the subreddit categories and thread formats where wallet decisions actually happen: wallet comparisons, self-custody discussions, onboarding/UX topics, fees and practical usage threads. A topic map was built around decision-making moments — comparison, recommendation, problem-solving — with content angles designed to feel native and experience-based.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Native Presence Model</h3>



<p>Every piece of content followed a trust-first framework: balanced comparisons with realistic pros/cons language, alignment with subreddit rules and moderation patterns, and a tone that sounds like genuine user experience rather than branded messaging. This approach reduces the chance of being flagged as promotion and increases the likelihood of organic replies and upvotes.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Discussion Creation &amp; Sustained Engagement</h3>



<p>We initiated conversations in formats that consistently perform well on Reddit and have long shelf lives — &#8220;Which wallet should I choose?&#8221; prompts, alternatives lists, and Q&amp;A threads with experience-sharing follow-ups. These become searchable assets that keep attracting views, engagement, and indexing long after publication.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Monitoring &amp; Iteration</h3>



<p>We tracked organic participation rate, comment velocity, upvote traction, and emerging narratives. Threads growing organically were reinforced; lower-performing angles were replaced with formats that better fit each subreddit&#8217;s culture.</p>

<p>The brand already exists within AI model knowledge. As Reddit discussions accumulate and get indexed, the client is positioned to appear more consistently in AI-generated answers for crypto wallet comparisons, self-custody recommendations, and &#8220;best wallet&#8221; shortlists.</p>

<p>Over 40% of product research queries now involve AI assistants. LLMs pull heavily from Reddit when forming recommendations. Most competitors haven&#8217;t addressed this channel — this is a first-mover advantage.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Organic Amplification</h3>



<p>Around ~5% of participants were organic Reddit users joining and extending discussions independently. Real users started asking follow-up questions and discussing the wallet on their own. Natural, unprompted mentions increased over time.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Market Positioning</h3>

<p>The wallet began being compared alongside major market options — Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Ledger, Phantom — in organic decision-making threads. Being mentioned in the same breath as established players is positioning that typically takes years or massive ad spend to achieve.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Reddit as Top-Cited Source in AI Responses</h3>



<p>Independent data from Ahrefs Brand Radar confirms the results: <strong>Reddit is the #1 cited source</strong> when AI systems generate answers about the client&#8217;s brand — accounting for <strong>5 mentions (10.64% mention rate)</strong> across 8 URLs and 5 prompts. This is the highest organic traffic source (656 org. traffic) among all cited domains, outperforming YouTube, Telegram, Medium, and 55 other sources.</p>

<p>This case demonstrates that community-native reputation building creates a compounding visibility effect across three layers simultaneously: Reddit itself (where users make decisions), Google (which indexes these discussions as top results), and AI systems (which pull from Reddit to form recommendations).</p>



<p>The project also delivered something beyond visibility: a map of what the audience actually cares about — which features win arguments, what objections keep surfacing, and how the brand stacks against competitors in real conversations. That&#8217;s strategic intel no survey or focus group can replicate, and it directly informs product positioning, content strategy, and future LLM optimization efforts.</p>

<p><strong>Findings:</strong></p>

<li>Core differentiators (no KYC, speed, large-volume swaps) were invisible — LLMs didn&#8217;t &#8220;know&#8221; what made the platform special</li>



<li>Weak trust signals: almost no authoritative PR placements, thin editorial footprint</li>



<li>Content architecture was misaligned: transactional pages existed, but no informational content that AI systems could reference</li>

<p>The key insight: the visibility problem wasn&#8217;t &#8220;bad SEO.&#8221; AI systems actively recommended competitors because those competitors had built the authority signals LLMs trust — PR mentions, structured content, consistent brand narrative. The client&#8217;s product was arguably better, but AI didn&#8217;t know that.</p>

<p>This is where the client&#8217;s &#8220;we need better SEO&#8221; became &#8220;we need AI Visibility.&#8221;</p>

<p>We restructured the content around intent-based keyword clusters — not just for Google rankings, but to create content LLMs would reference and cite. Programmatic pages for crypto pairs gave AI systems structured, factual data to pull from.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">PR as a Citation Signal</h3>



<p>Every PR placement was chosen for its likelihood of being indexed and cited by LLMs. This wasn&#8217;t about &#8220;getting press&#8221; — it was about building the citation network AI systems need to recommend a brand with confidence.</p>

<p>Each month we re-ran the audit to track which queries the client now appeared in, how positioning had changed, and where competitors were still ahead. Strategy adjusted accordingly.</p>
